August Šenoa, (born November 14, 1838, Zagreb, Croatia, Austrian Empire—died December 13, 1881, Zagreb) was famous Croatian novelist, critic, editor, poet, and dramatist who urged the modernization and improvement of Croatian literature and led its transition from Romanticism to Realism. The play "Šenoa i Slava" was written by Lada Kaštelan and directed by Paolo Tišljarić for Scena Gorica repertoire in 2021. The story follows weeping Slava shortly after her partner August tragically died.
